Have you ever gone out to look at electric guitar amps? If so then you know that the price range is huge. This makes it hard to choose what kind of amp you should get. This price range will no doubt cause a lot of confusion because people won’t know if an amp is right for them or not. In some cases, you can get away with buying cheap guitar amps, this will save you some money so you can use it on other important things for your guitar. Below I will go over the kinds of people that can purchase a cheap guitar amp with no problem.
Beginners
If you are a beginner, then it is highly recommended you get a cheap guitar amp. If you are a novice player still learning how to play the guitar there is no point in spending an arm and a leg to get the perfect sound. When you learn, you are bound to have a mishap with the amp. Screwing up an incredibly expensive amp can be very frustrating. If you blow out a speaker on a cheap amp it is not a huge deal. But if you paid a ton of money for that amp and you ruined it, you are going to be mad.
Practicing
If you are not planning on doing a whole lot of performances in front of a lot of people then you can get away with purchasing a cheap guitar amp. In fact, it is recommended that when practicing, you practice with a cheap guitar amp, that was when you perform, the amp will always be better than the one you practice with. Once you decide you and your band are ready to perform in front of a lot of people then it is time to move on to the more expensive amps.
There are many cheap guitar amps that are of good quality. Even though these amps are typically smaller, the benefits they offer such as affordability make them worth it. For the majority of guitar players out there, getting a cheap amp is perfect. However, if you are an advanced player I don’t see the point in getting one.
